...I had to spend a fourth night in my tent. I did not stop until I was well through Worcester, and it was dark, so I just used my tent as a "bivvy bag." Thankfully it was a mild night.
Earlier in the day, I passed a Severn Trent Water Plant - they had the rather twee mission statement: "Health and Safety is no accident."
It reminded me of a safety endeavour that Shell had years ago, when I was offshore, called "Target Zero."
One of the incentives was a T-shirt with a large target emblazoned across the chest.
One of my roughnecks came up to me and said, "Dave, you wouldn't catch me wearing one of those down Sauchiehall Street, in Glesga' - the punters would start throwing darts at me!"
My maxim: "Health and Safety will kill us all eventually, if not physically, certainly metaphorically."
