Worms and Libraries

Friday 17th
I awoke this morning, to the awareness of some long thin things in my tent. I thought -I've already had a slug visitor, what have we now, a plague of worms? However, on closer inspection it turned out to be a couple of noodles from my Special Chow Mien that I'd eaten in total darkness, the night before.
I seem to be spending an awful lot of time in libraries, trying to catch up with my various interests.
They are certainly changing places, with much more noise, as little people consider Noddy's next adventure, and folks do as I'm doing via the Internet, and on mobile phone. However I think that an area where some silence is the rule, should prevail for serious study.
It reminded me of another roughneck - Eck. Eck lived up to his name, he didn't even have a pencil-case, but he was a good roughneck, as strong as an ox. It came to light during a conversation that Eck spent a fair bit of time in his local library - this was quite amazing, and completely out of character.
I said, "Eck, you go to the library, quite often?"
"Yes," he replied, "If I'm early, I pop in because it is warm, and also because the pub is right across the road."
