The Exeter Inspection

Spent the night with my “Falkland’s  veteran” paratrooper-cum-pastor” good friend, David and his wife Margaret-Ann.
I had a dawn backpack-lightening inspection, as David supervised.  I’m almost down to a pair of boxer-shorts and string vest -  after ditching my hair-drier, curling-tongs, three handbags, six pairs of shoes, and my intensive nail and cuticle manicure set!  I’m now starting to realise the rationale behind the naked rambler’s approach!
On a serious note we pondered the distinction between solitude and loneliness – the former, being positive whilst the latter, being extremely destructive.  However, within one’s own “private slot” a range of fellow sojourners is also essential, with appropriate levels of intimacy.
